How Do I Get a U9 Visa Card?

Getting your U9 Visa Card takes four steps:

Step What to do See
1 Create a U9 account Register and Manage Your Account page
2 Verify your identity (KYC) Identity Verification page
3 Apply for your U9 Visa Card and make the first top-up "How Do I Apply for a U9 Visa Card?" on this page
4 Start paying Top Up, Withdraw, and Mobile Wallets page

Note: Your first top-up must be at least 1 U9, so make sure you have enough U9 in your wallet. If you do not have any U9 yet, see the Swap Guide page.

How Do I Apply for a U9 Visa Card?

Once your identity is verified, you can apply for a U9 Visa Card. You set your first top-up amount when you apply, and once the card is issued, that amount goes to your card balance.

  1. On the U9 Visa Card home page, tap Apply for a new U9 Card.
  1. Enter your first top-up amount (minimum 1 U9), then tap Apply for U9 Card.
  2. On the transaction summary page, check the top-up amount, network fee, and total. When everything is correct, tap Confirm to submit the transaction.
  1. When "Transaction submitted" appears, go back to the U9 Visa Card home page and follow the status in Transaction History.
  2. Once the issuer has confirmed your details and issued the card, your new card appears on the Card page, and your first top-up is added to your U9 Visa Card balance.
Please note:
  • There is currently no card issuance fee for the U9 Visa Card. Your full first top-up goes to your card balance and is not a fee.
  • You can leave the application before you tap Confirm. Once the transaction is submitted, it cannot be cancelled or reversed.
  • Keep the Abelian app running while the transaction is submitted and the card is issued, and watch for status updates in Transaction History.
  • The network fee shown on the confirmation page applies.

Do I Need to Activate My U9 Visa Card or Set a PIN?

No. Your card is ready to use once it appears on the Card page. The U9 Visa Card is virtual, so it does not use a PIN.

Why Hasn't My New Card Appeared Yet?

The card application is processed on-chain, which can take longer when the network is busy. After the transaction is submitted, the issuer also needs to confirm your billing information. First check Transaction History to make sure the transaction went through. If your card still has not appeared after a while, contact support with the transaction details.

Can I Leave the Application Partway Through?

Yes. You can leave at any time before you tap Confirm on the transaction summary page, and nothing is charged. Once you confirm, the application and first top-up cannot be cancelled or reversed.
